You can create a custom segment to target visitors who have previously purchased dog related items.

Here’s how:

1. Navigate to your PersonalizeWP dashboard and go to the ‘Segments’ section, here you will see all of your existing segments.

2. On the next screen you will be able to set the conditions for your new segment. In this example, we want to create a segment to include all customers who bought dog food from our website.

3. Let’s add a name for our segment such as ‘Dog Food Customers’ and set the product type as ‘Purchased Product’.

Set the ‘Condition Matching’ as ‘Any of the conditions match (OR logic)’ and then find the relevant product listing under ‘Category/Product’.

In this example if we search for ‘dog food’ it shows our specific product listing so we can add that by clicking it.

After that, we need to save our new segment by clicking the pink ‘Create segment’ button at the bottom of the page.

4. Now we’re ready to apply our segment so we need to go to the page we want to display content targeted at our dog food customers.

Here we have the product page for natural dog food and we’ve added a block promoting our new festive product range for dogs.

To target our new segment, we need to click on the block/group and then go to the Personalize menu on the righr-hand side.

5. Within the Personalize menu we can go to ‘Segments’ and select ‘Dog Food Customer’ from the drop-down menu. Once selected, publish your page.

Now Your segment is now set up and customers who have previously bought dog food from your online store will now see this block when visiting this specific page.
