What’s New in PersonalizeWP 2.7?

In this update, we’re introducing CRM features with our new Custom Profile Fields functionality, adding new Segments to group users based on the content they are viewing, and updating our ruleset options for Browser Language and Device Type.

NEW: Custom Profile Fields for Visitor Data

One of the most exciting additions in v2.7 is our new Custom Profile Fields feature, which allows you to collect, manage, and use custom visitor data in your content.

For example, if you’re running a veterinary surgery website, you could add fields like branch location, pet type, or pet name.

When a visitor fills out a form with these details, their information can be mapped to their visitor profile in PersonalizeWP.

You can then use these fields to create tailored experiences:

  • Display Personalized Content: Show blocks only to visitors with specific custom profile field values, such as ‘Pet Type: Cat‘ or ‘Branch Location: Manchester‘.
  • Dynamic Text Replacement: Even better, you can inject Custom Profile Field data into your block content, such as replacing ‘your pet‘ with the pet’s actual name ‘Tiddles‘.

This feature ensures that your website resonates with each user on a personal level.

NEW: Segments Based on Content Viewed

Do you want to group users based on the content they have viewed? Well, now you can!

Our new segment types allow you to collect users that have viewed specific types of content into a single group.

  • Segment by Post Type:  Your content is likely split into posts, pages and custom post types specific to your own site. With this new segment type, you can group visitors based on which post types they view – such as ‘news’, ‘case studies’, ‘products’ and more.
  • Segment by Taxonomy: Want to go further? Each of your post types will have categories and tags, and now you can group users based on these as well. For instance, create a segment for all users that viewed content categorised as ‘dogs’, ‘cats’ or ‘rabbits’ and then show specific content to this segment in the Block Editor.

NEW: Browser Language Rule

Show content to audiences that use different languages with the our new Browser Language rule! You can now show or hide content on a page based on the language that a visitor prefers to use.

UPDATED: Device Type Rule

The Device Type rule now recognizes desktop operating systems, including Mac, Windows, and Linux. This added granularity lets you optimize content and offers for users based on their OS.
